Mav did well today after some initial excitement. He needs some tidying up of his basic skills but enjoyed doing some "around" today!
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For his first session we worked on loose lead outside with drops to help get Mav engaged and focused as he was a bit excitable this morning. He did a great job working with a new trainer and after the first few minutes he had fantastic engagement with no pulling. For his emergency drops we focused on tidying them up a bit - getting him to go into them faster and lining up alongside the trainer when he goes into them instead of moving in front. He did well most of the time but does still need some work at home to tidy them up.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Recall||Comment: For his second session we worked on recalls with Mav. We spent the first few minutes outside on the grass but Mav was quite distracted (and it started raining) so we moved into the cattery. Mav had better focus here but did occasionally get distracted by some of the cats. We were able to increase his distance with the recall throughout the session to a few metres recall. At home practice working on his recalls on a long lead and building up the distance.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his last session we worked on the around skill from place. This can help with recalls by teaching the dog to move away and then return to the trainer. Initially we started off with luring him around the pole but as the session progressed we were able to just lightly guide around the pole. In future sessions the focus will be fading off the lure and getting him to go around more independently.||Focus: Repetition||B+|

D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
