Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Session one with Mav we started with his skill of quoits. Mav is getting better and better each session. He is now getting the ring close to the pole each time! The trainer continued with the jack pot method, giving Mav multiple treats for getting the ring on the pole or near. Mav got it on twice! So good. Focus: Repetition A+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Session two with Mav we practiced the skill of roll over. The trainer started by luring Mav onto his side and rewarded him with treats. This was repeated throughout the session so mav could get the feel of the start of rolling over. The next step for this skill is for the trainer to try and lure Mav onto his back. Focus: Foundation A
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Session three with Mav we practiced his skill of recall at the oval next door. By this session Mav was very distracted and lacked engagement with the trainer. There was other dogs training although Mav was more distracted by the environment. After the trainer putting him in an drop and rewarding for engagement followed by continuing recalls Mav did improve slightly. Focus: Distraction C
