Mav did good at his skills but can still get distracted easily and lose all focus. Working on his skills around distractions will help to get him ready for the high levels of distractions he faces at Dayschool.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For his first session we took Mav into the cattery to work on his loose lead skill. Mav was quite reactive to one of the cats (barked a lot at it) so we spent several laps slowly getting Mav to be able to walk past without any barking or reactions. Mav eventually was able to completely ignore the cat even with it hissing at him which is good progress. With his barking at home try and identify the reason as it is something that will need to be managed at home.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For his second session we went over Mav's drops in the classroom. Mav was a bit slow on some of his drops and lacked focus sometimes. Working on quickly moving him in and out of drop helped him to better focus and speed up his drops. He struggled a bit with duration today and impulse control around food but overall did well.||Focus: Repetition||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For his last session we did another loose lead session in the classroom around dogs for the added distraction. Mav did quite well with walking and a few drops but did completely lose all focus when another staff member walked past him. Continuing to work on his loose lead around other people will help strengthen his skill.||Focus: Distraction||B|
