|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his first session today Mav worked on his quoits skill. We tried something a bit different today and worked a little bit backwards. This means that we started with the ring on the pole and got him to take it off. We did this in hopes that he makes a connection between the two (ring and pole). After a while of this he was happily taking it off the pole, he even managed to put it back on successfully once! This skill requires lots of repetition and lots of little skills chained together. Mav did well with this today and showed some improvement.||Focus: Foundation||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For his second session today Mav went to the pony club to work on his drops around dog distractions. He did really well with this, although would sometimes have a momentary lapse in concentration and fixate on a dog. When this happened it was easy to redirect his focus back to the trainer by using recalls or playing a little game with him. Mavs drop skill is really solid but can always do with some practice, keep doing what you’re doing!||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Middle Position||Comment: For his last session today Mav mastered his middles skill by going through the front, turning around and ending up in the final position. We started out by luring him but he picked it up super quickly and we were able to just say middles while facing him and he went through, turned around and sat for middles. Keep working on this one, although he did really well he did make a couple mistakes. Go Mav!||Focus: Repetition||B+|
