Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Marley's first session was drops and working on the duration. The trainer had Marley in the classroom and other dogs were training. Her duration is getting better, however when someone came into the classroom Marley totally forgot what she was doing! The trainer had to create more distance and work to get Marley’s focus back. Having the distance between the distraction did help but the trainers will work more on the duration around distractions for Marley. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Next up for Marley was roll out the mat. Marley did a great job with this, to the point that the trainer stopped putting treats in the mat and just rewarded Marley after she had rolled out the mat. As Marley was smashing the mat skill the trainer started to introduce the bow skill. Marley did this well with a lure so next time it will be good to start to fade the lure. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Last was a focus on around. The start of this session was a few repetitions and then the trainer introduced around. The trainer kept the cone close to the place bed and Marley did a great job. To push Marley further the trainer moved the cone further away. With the other training happening in the room Marley struggled so the trainer pushed the cone back a little and this worked better. Once the distance was created Marley was able to focus again! Focus: Distraction B
