Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Marley's first session was drops in the kitchen. She did a great job of getting in position but wasn't keen to stay there and wanted to go all over the place getting to the good smells. The trainer worked on Marley's duration and she did improve but as soon as someone walked into the room she broke place. Trainers will continue to work on duration with drop as Marley does know the skill. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Next up was shake. Marley was quick to go for the treats and when they weren't quick to be released Marley started to use her paw. After a few repetitions like this the trainer started to take the treat out of the equation. Marley did struggle a little with this and started to lose interest. Like she does when things get to hard lol. However, she did get a couple out before she walked off! Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Lastly the focus was on place and around. Her food bowl has been following her around today and when the trainer went to put it on the floor Marley broke place a number of times! The trainer upped the frequency of treats and Marley started focusing and stopped breaking. As Marley settled into the session the trainer then started working on around. Marley followed the lure well and by the end of the session pointing and a little leash pressure was all that was needed. Not perfect but great progress. She's only eating a little bit but we are using prime roll for her treats rather than fritz. She's quite keen for the prime roll. Focus: Repetition C+

We recommend your next step should be…
