|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object)||Comment: Marie’s first session was paws up. This time the trainer focused on getting Marie to put one paw on each item. She was very keen to do paws up, which was great! So then the trainer lured Marie slightly to help her move her paw to the second item. After a while Marie did start to understand what was required. She still needed a lure so going forward it would be great to start to fade the lure.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Next up was place for Marie. The trainer did this outside again and Marie has improved already. She broke a couple of times when the trainer moved around, but quickly settled and starting holding place better. When Marie was released from place she did struggle to pull herself away from the smells to go on place, but as the session progressed she did get better with this also. When practicing at home keep moving place around to different spots for different distractions.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Loose lead walking was the focus of Marie’s last session and she did a fantastic job. Still working in a lower distracting area, the trainer changed direction a number of times to help Marie engage with the trainer. Once this was happening Marie walked much better and was better engaged. She did still pull at times during other sessions but the trainer worked on making sure Marie continued to follow the same loose lead walking rules.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
