Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Marie’s first session was loose lead walking and she did a fantastic job. At first the trainer just worked in a small area to get Marie engaged. But it didn’t take long before The trainer was able to increase the distance before turning. As the session progressed Marie did an awesome job! Keep going with this at home. Start with low distractions and slowly build up. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: Next the focus was on paws up. The trainer went straight to the object that Marie took a while to do paws up on last time. It took a little bit but before long she was straight up on it. The trainer then moved on to something smaller and like last time it took lots of luring and coaxing but she got there in the end. Awesome session. Try paws up on lots of different things as this helps build confidence. Focus: Repetition B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: The last session for Marie was place outside. She was so distracted by the smells that she really struggled at first. The trainer used the Uhuh word and and slight tug on the lead to get Marie back on place. The trainer kept duration short to start with but as the session progressed increased the duration and Marie was able to hold position better. Remember when training this lessen distractions of Marie is breaking a lot. Focus: Distraction C+
