With Maisie’s sessions today we did lots of small 2 minute sessions as we have found doing small session with anxious dogs improves their confidence with the trainer. This is from the trainer approaching, providing something positive (food) and leaving. When this is repeated they develop more confidence with the trainer.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: In Maisie’s first session we took it really slow with her as she was displaying nervous behaviours (creating space and refusing rewards). Due to this we took her on a confidence walk to help condition her to the new environment and people. It took her awhile to settle down but once we commenced the walk she started showing a bit more confidence.||Focus: Repetition||C|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: In her second session we took her into the classroom to start conditioning this environment and worked on charging the communication reward marker ‘yes’. Although she was not taking food rewards, she received physical attention (cuddles and pats) to reinforce the environment and her markers.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Conditioning||Comment: In the last session we continued to condition the trainers, environment and charge her reward marker. The trainers were very patient and took this at her own pace to ensure no negative associations were being made. Maisie is a very nervous sweet heart but progressed well with developing confidence with the trainer quickly. She was not food motivated and lacks confidence but did make progress throughout the day.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
