|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Place Training
|Comment: This session focused on some place training. We also worked up near the gate where she can hear cars go past! She did really well responding nicely to quick repetitions and trainer distractions. Work on control skills like place and drop around potential triggers/distractions, working at a distance she is comfortable with and slowly decrease.
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down
|Comment: This session was all about her drops. We worked near the driveway for some car distractions. Maci showed good understanding of her skill but struggled with trainer movement/distractions while she held position. Try doing small movements first and gradually build it up. She did really well around the car distractions, holding position while they went past. We made sure to increase the amount of treats as they went past.
|Skill learnt: Desensitisation
|Comment: This session focused on desensitisation to cats, birds and rabbits. She was too distracted to do recalls so we focused on building engagement in these distraction environments. This all helps build strong foundations for a solid recall around animals. She did really well, she was curious but still showed some engagement with the trainer.
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
