Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Luther’s first session we practiced his place skill we focused on duration and distance. He did really well with this skill. We then started sending him to place from a distance and did fantastic, broke a few times at the start but progressed fantastically. Focus: Distraction A+
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Luther’s second session we worked on his recalls. We had our mentor down last week from Melbourne and he taught us a few new ways he trains some skills. First we charged the word ‘come’ same as our reward marker. After a few try’s of this we then lured his nose right on our stomach so he knows when we saw ‘come’ we mean come right to us. He did really well and we kept practicing this skill. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: In Luther’s last session we practiced paws up, first we did it on a big step and he was doing it perfectly. So then we worked on a small object at first he was unsure of the object so it took a lot of luring. But half way through he did so well and was doing it fantastically. Focus: Duration A
