Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For her first session today the trainer took her out to the oval to really test her loose lead skills but to also soak in some sun while it’s around! She did great this first session, she did pull in front a few times but this was to be expected in such a highly stimulating environment. She had great recovery and with the help of the turning method she was soon again following along with the trainer showing some great engagement and even went over some of the smaller horse jumps out on the oval! This was a fantastic first session for Luna and the trainer is very impressed with her! Focus: Conditioning B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: For her second session the trainer worked on her recall skills. To help push her today the trainer first started inside the classroom and had her recalling away from a plate full of dry kibble, just to start her out in a place she was familiar with the skill before pushing to a higher stimulating environment. While she went towards it a few times she was easily redirected back to recalling to the trainer and came back each and every time, she was then taken to the play pen today and tested on her off lead recall, she still needs a bit of training with this but she is getting much better being able to ignore most distractions but other dogs are still just a little too much for her. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For her last session today the trainer worked on a trick skill and decided on hoop! Since she was just starting it today the trainer just wanted her going through the hoop comfortably so focused on doing this for the session. She was able to easily go through it on ground level so the trainer raised the hoop up a little bit onto a bucket. Initially she was a little thrown off however she was quick to recover and was soon jumping through the hoop again easily! She ended in a big positive note doing a big leap through the hoop and a happy little dance afterwards! Luna smashed it today and the trainer is very happy with her progress! Focus: Foundation C+
