It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: This session focused on his drops and engagement. We worked outside without any dog distractions present so we could gain his full focus! He did well, only losing focus when he could hear people next door. Doing this first allows us to really gain his focus and make sure he is in a better mind set for the rest of his sessions. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: We worked in the classroom this session while another dog was practicing loose lead. We released him from his crate straight to place. We used food rewards and had the tug toy tucked under our arm. This helped him focus but we didn’t use it until the other dog had left - it was there to keep his hopes up! He smashed it this session, he would look at the other dog but only reacted twice the whole session. The rest of the time he would look, we said “yes” and he looked back to us. Once the other dog finished their session we then rewarded Louie big time with the tug toy and had lots of fun! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Louie’s last session was all about some pampering! We worked on teaching him how to use a nail file board! Getting him to scratch it! We simply hid some treats in our hand above the board and waited for him to paw at it. He picked this up quickly and was scratching the board repetitively. This is great for dogs that don’t enjoy nail trims, it’s also a great mental enrichment task! Focus: Conditioning B+

We recommend your next step should be…
