Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Louie’s first session we worked on his place skill. Today we worked in the playpen opposite the kennels for added dog distractions. We worked on sending Louie to place and then releasing him, having a game of tug and sending him back to place. By the end of the session we were able to have him off lead going back to place across the play pen. Louie did so well and wasn’t phased by all the dogs barking nearby! Great work Louie! Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For Louie’s second session we worked on his loose lead and drop. We started outside the kennels and whilst Louie still walked okay and did his drops he was quite distracted by the dogs, so we moved inside the kennels and this helped boost his engagement massively. Once inside the kennels he stuck by his trainers side and checked in regularly and was responding to his drop cue a lot faster. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Spin Comment: For Louie’s final session we had some fun with trick training! After a big day working around dogs ending on a trick is a great way to finish Louie’s day! Today we started working on spin. Louie prefers to spin in an anticlockwise direction and still needs the guidance of a lure but was beginning to pick this up and we started adding the verbal cue! Focus: Foundation B
