Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: The trainer started Loki's day with loose lead. As he does struggle with this at times the trainer likes to work with Loki on this when he is. Today he did a great job. Settled quickly, no lunging at all. There were some sheep around and Loki made no move towards them, though he did watch them intently. Although he often tried to pull a bit to smell the smells, overall his engagement was good and he did well. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Targeting (touch) Comment: For Loki's second session the trainer introduced a new trick skill, touch. This was done with a targeting stick but anything can be used. This is a great skill to help teach other tricks in the future and also the command can eventually be transferred to other items. Loki did well with this and towards the end of the session the trainer was starting to put a word to the action. This skill can be practiced at home with a spoon, every time he touches it with his nose use the yes marker. As he progresses you can added the command touch to it. Focus: Repetition D+
Skill learnt: Ring a Bell Comment: The trainer worked on Loki's ring the bell trick for his last session. At first the trainer took Loki back to basics but before long he was ringing the bell with his paw well. Loki clearly understood what was required and it was awesome to see. Next time the trainer would like to add the word to the action. Well done Loki it was a great session to end the day on. Focus: Repetition B
