|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: In her first session, Lexi focused on further developing her skill 'drop', working on basics. We focused on this skill as Lexi has been struggling with her drops recently. Initially, she struggled to go into drop and maintain the drop despite low distractions. With some guidance and going back to basics she quickly began to go into drop, while in drop she would break for small distractions. The trainer used a high reinforcement schedule (treats every 10 seconds). This was slowly reduced as she began to maintain it well.||Focus: Foundation||C+|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: In her second session, Lexi focused on further developing her skill ‘loose lead’ walking, while outside in a high distracting environment. This environment consisted of two dogs training in close proximity (one being Dexter). Lexi performed well, she initially struggled with engagement, but with some guidance and the incorporation of drop helped redirect her focus. We suggest continuing practice this skill at home, independently.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: In her final session Lexi focused on learning the new skill ‘middle’ with receptions within the classroom. We focused on this skill to further build her confidence and begin working on a recall. Lexi performed very well, she quickly followed a lure straight through the trainers legs. This lure was quickly faded while Lexi continued to go into the correct position (siting in between the trainer’s legs).||Focus: Foundation||B|
