Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: First session Leroy worked on his drops. Today we headed over to the Pony Club to work in a different environment with higher distractions to challenge him. This was no challenge at all for Lee Lee, he worked well in this environment responding off just the verbal cue drop. He held his duration while the trainer moved around him and ignored the pesky birds nearby. He only broke position early twice throughout the session but was easily redirect back into his drop. Great work! Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Leroy’s second session we worked on his loose lead. We headed back to the Pony Club as he enjoyed it so much the first session. While he didn’t check in as much in this environment Leroy walked nicely at the trainers side, followed direction change and matched the trainers pace when they sped up and slowed down. He had very minimal pulling ahead only in the first minute or so when we got onto the oval. Focus: Obedience B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For Leroy’s final session we worked on some trick training! Leroy is showing great progress with his button press trick, we are able to offer him the button and he starts tapping away at it with his paw. Today we worked on introducing the verbal cue and rewarding him for doing the trick when asked. In typical Leroy fashion he likes to do it in his own time or lay down and tap the button but he is picking this up well. Focus: Repetition B
