Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Leo’s first session was loose lead walking. This was done outside and it did take a little time for Leo to focus and stop pulling. Once Leo started to focus on the trainer his walking was much better. He did lose focus when a couple of people came by with a dog. However it didn’t take much for Leo to focus back on the trainer. There is still more work to Leo to do with this skill but his progress is fantastic. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Second session for Leo was place. This was done near the kennel yards with loud barking dogs. Leo was very interested and wanted to go over to them. The trainer increased the treats and soon Leo lost interest in the dogs. However, he wanted to break place to follow the trainer as she moved around. Again the trainer used more treats and slowly build up the distance between Leo and the trainer. Leo progressed well and by the end of the session Leo was holding place well Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) Comment: Last session for Leo was the confidence course and he really struggled with the over hanging pool noodles. The trainer as to use lots of treats to get Leo through that section. After that initial run through Leo was much better going through the course! Awesome work Leo. Focus: Repetition X
