Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Sit Comment: For Lady’s first session today we worked on her sit skill outside, in the cattery and in the classroom. She did super well with this skill and showed great duration under different distractions. She broke a couple times when the trainer moved quickly and made it look as though they were going to walk off. To improve this, small steps away from her were slowly progressed to turning our back and walking away with the long line. She was smashing this skill by the end of the session and has awesome engagement and duration. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For Lady’s second session today we worked on conditioning her to grooming. Particularly her back end around her tail and back legs. We had her on place for this skill so she can’t move around too much. We introduced the brush to her first and rewarded her. We then progressed to brushing her all over and rewarding her while doing so. We were able to brush her back end easily while keeping up the rewards. She just relaxed on the bed and let us do what we needed to do. Making this a positive experience with lots of treats will help her relax and realise this is a good thing. Focus: Conditioning B+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For Lady’s last session today we worked on her emergency place and sending to place. In the classroom we had three different beds set up and we were able to send her to different ones. This is good because it makes her think about staying on different beds in different locations. We moved outside and worked on sending her to place from a distance. She did really well with this as well, although sometimes a bit slow. To improve this she might just need higher value treats to make her more willing or even just rewarding the slightly quicker responses and not so much the slower ones. Focus: Repetition B+

We recommend your next step should be…
