|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Lady’s first session was working on her sit pretty skill, and this will go towards her trick title. The trainer started luring Lady into position. Lady did really well, given she is still learning this skill. She is still using the trainer a bit for balance by putting her paws on the trainer. Next time the trainer would like to see Lady start to gain her balance and stop using the trainer. Keep practicing at home with this using a lure to get Lady into the sit pretty position.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Continuing on with roll over was Lady’s second session. At first she was not keen to roll right over. Rather just moving her head over in an attempt to get the treats. Once she started to realise that she wouldn’t get the treat unless she moved her whole body she started to do just that. By the end of the session the trainer was luring Lady back and forth, from one side to the other. Next time the trainer would like to start introducing a hand signal and fading out the luring. Keep practicing this with Lady with a lure so that she really understands this skill||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For her final session Lady worked on her hold skill. This is the basis for many other tricks, so it will be great to get her doing this trick now. She knew to hold the piece of hose but she was not holding it for very long. If she did have it she then moved her head and “threw” it out of her mouth. The trainer started holding it while Lady held it in her mouth. The worked much better and the trainer really encouraged Lady to hold the hose for longer before she got a treat. This will still need a lot more work on the duration that Lady holds the hose for and the trainer will work further on this next time. But great work Lady.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
