Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Kracka’s first session was leg weave. He wasn’t keen on middle this morning so the trainer went straight to leg weave. The trainer lured Kracka around her legs and yes rewarded when Kracka got to the middle. After doing this for a while Krack was able to be lured the full leg weave before being rewarded. Kracka did well and was consistently following the lure around. Next time it would be good to start to face the lure out. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: Second session was muzzle training. Again Kracka is doing well with this but as soon as the straps look to be coming towards him, Kracka shys away. So the trainer concentrated on getting Kracka used to the straps moving. This still does need more work. Keep practicing at home! He’s doing well. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Loose lead walking was Kracka’s final seat and he really did struggle at the start with this. The trainer worked in a very small area and changed direction every time Kracka pulled. Soon he did start to focus and walk much better. This enables the trainer to increase the work space. As it increased, however, Kracka started pulling again. So the trainer changed direction more often to get Kracka’s focus back. Keep practicing at home in the backyard until Kracka has master all the distractions there. Then move to the front yard. Focus: Distraction C+
