|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Kracka’s first session was loose lead walking. The trainer got him settled well in the classroom first before heading outside. Once outside Kracka had no focus and was pulling. The trainer used treats to lure Kracka and changed direction frequently and Krack was soon focusing really well. He kept checking in with the trainer and only pulled to the side a couple of time. However, Kracka did lose focus with John and Scott working outside the classroom and struggled to bring the focus back to the trainer. But it was big improvements from last time. Keep practicing at home and slowly up the distractions and use high value treats to help Kracka’s focus on you.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: Kracka’s next session was the muzzle. He refused treats at first and wouldn’t move towards the muzzle. The trainer revved him up a bit and gave him lots of cuddles and soon he was putting his head in the muzzle. However, as soon as the straps were moved towards Kracka’s face while his nose was in the muzzle, he pulled his nose out and refused to participate again. The trainer made it all exciting and Kracka started putting his nose in again. Keep practicing at home at home with lots of little fun sessions. Kracka loves the pats and the excited voice so use this to help encourage him.||Focus: Repetition||C+|
|Skill learnt: Desensitisation||Comment: Last session for Kracka was conditioning to the brush. Much like the muzzle when the brush got to close Kracka put his back to the trainer and it took a lot to get his engagement back. As the session progressed Kracka was taking treats from the hand that held the brush and it is getting closer to him. Keep practicing at home but with lots of treats and don’t rush it.||Focus: Repetition||D+|
