|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: For his first session we took advantage of the beautiful sunshine and took Kong out into the carpark to work on his loose lead with spins and drops. Kong did really well with his loose lead and spins but needed a tiny bit of work on his drops, especially if the trainer kept walking. He also broke his drops a few times if the trainer was crouched next to him as he wanted cuddles instead. We also worked with some dog distractions with 2 small barking dogs going off at him through the gate. He did initially struggle to focus on the trainer but was then able to hold a drop around them while they kept barking which is good progress. Working on Kong around other high energy/active dogs will help him learn to ignore distractions and focus on the trainer.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: As Kong struggled with listening in high energy mode last week we worked on having him go to place and into drop mid-play. Kong was much better with this this week and would even not go fully into play in anticipation of being sent to place. He would often even go to place or into drop himself without being asked. We did find physical play was more enticing for him that using the tug toy. All in all, much better improvement in his listening while playing.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Middle Position||Comment: For his last session we worked on middles from the place position with Kong. After a few goes he figured out where he needed to sit and was very focused on the skill and trainer. We were even able to progress with walking with Kong in middles still which is a fantastic next step for this skill. Amazing work Kong!||Focus: Foundation||B+|
