Skill | Comment | We focused on | Grade |
---|---|---|---|
Skill learnt: Targeting (touch) | Comment: For his first session today the trainer worked on some more of Kong’s touch skill. The focus today was the same as last session, giving him multiple things to have to touch and he had to figure out which one the trainer was asking him to touch. He was even better with this today being able to not only go to seperate targets but the trainer had them at different heights! He smashed this first session and it got him in the perfect mood for the rest of the day! | Focus: Conditioning | B+ |
Skill learnt: Trick Training | Comment: for his second session today the trainer worked on a few different tricks. To start they worked a little more on his “put toys away” skill. Like last week the focus was on getting all the toys back in the bucket without him trying to take more out! To help with this and break up his hyper focus on the toys in the bucket every time he even just let go of the ball over the bucket the frisbee gave him his reward marker and rewarded this, this encouraged him to drop the toy then move away from the bucket not allowing him the time to grab another toy out the bucket. He was easily able to do this being able to put all toys back in without grabbing one out. This is when they moved him outside and started doing the beginning of a new trick skills called “around circuit” where we send Kong around multiple cones around the trainer testing his obedience but also impulse control while looking very cool, he has only just started this so was just learning the basics. | Focus: Conditioning | B |
Skill learnt: Obstacle Course (Confidence Building) | Comment: For his final session today the trainer did a few more tricks with kong to finish his day on a positive note! First he was taken through some roll over as he hadn’t done this in a while. He knew the skill quiet well but unfortunately he is a little big to roll over without the help of the trainer! He locks his paws onto the trainer next to him and pushes himself into a rollover which is great! To finish the day on a big positive note the trainer took Kong through the confidence course! He was a bit hesitant to go through the normal way but when the trainer tried taking him through backwards he was able to do it no worries and once he had done it backwards he was easily able to zoom through the rest of the course! He should be nice and tuckered out after his big day! | Focus: Repetition | B |
