Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: First session Kong worked on his middles. He was quite excited and bouncy for training today and struggled to focus on the trainer. We went back to basics using treats to guide him into the correct position. After a few repetitions he was able to follow a hand signal and the verbal cue and we started to add some movement. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: Kongs second session we worked on his Quoits skill. He is getting so good at this! Today we worked on throwing the ring away increasing the distance between the ring and pole. Kong was able to successfully put the rings on the pole multiple times. He’s still not 100% consistent with it but gets very close on his other attempts. Focus: Distance B
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Final session we headed outside to work on some obedience with Kong. We worked on loose lead, adding some spins to build engagement, drop and middles. Kong pulled a bit to start with but quickly settled and engaged with his trainer. He was a bit slow to get into his drops and needed a hand signal at times but once in them his duration was good. He enjoys spinning while walking and this definitely breaks up the obedience by adding a small trick into it when he is losing focus. Focus: Obedience B
