|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Kongs first session today focused on his loose lead walking and drops outside. As we were leaving the kennels we worked on containing his excitement and using door manners. He knows his door manners really well and sat at each door before being released. Outside his loose lead walking was great, he did pull towards a grassy patch a couple times but by changing direction and regaining his focus we could eventually walk up to it nicely for him to explore. We also practiced a few drops outside and tested him with trainer movement/distractions while taking his photos! He did very well with this first session, he was much more settled.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: For his second session today we worked on his quoits skill. He has definitely shown progress in his understanding, he has to pick the ring up and get it closer to the base. He still hasn’t made the connection between the ring and pole though. As he gets more accurate with bringing it closer to the pole we can start to get more fussy with where he places it. Keep working on this one, he seems to really enjoy the problem solving.||Focus: Foundation||B+|
|Skill learnt: Middle Position||Comment: For Kong’s last session today we worked on his middles skill at different angles. We started with him in a drop and then asked for middles. This helps keep him focused and not getting distracted while the trainer gets ready. He did well with most angles, the only one he struggled most with was when the trainer stood side on and almost facing him. This means he has to get up and go around behind the trainer. He got better towards the end of the session, we helped him along with a lure if the angle was really hard, go Kong!||Focus: Repetition||B+|
