Kong's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: For his first session today Kong worked on his loose lead walking outside. Since he was really keen to get going he kept pulling towards the classroom, to combat this we would turn and walk the other direction. We were eventually able to walk all around the property without him pulling towards the classroom or a tree to wee on! Kong also practiced a few emergency drops along the way, he was a bit slow to get into position but still did them! Keep working on his loose lead and really focus on getting his engagement. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: For his second session today Kong worked on his hold skill, especially on duration. We did much the same as last time, presenting the object and waiting for him to show behaviours. He immediately started biting it, this time we would push the ring a little towards him as he mouthed it. This put it further into his mouth and made him hold it longer! Keep working on this one, he is doing well! Focus: Duration B
Skill learnt: Ring a Bell Comment: For his last session today Kong smashed out his “ring the bell” trick! We used two different bells to test him, the one with rope attached and the other counter bell which he uses his foot for. Kong knew exactly what to do for both the bells and struggled to listen to anything else. Even when we asked him to drop between each attempt he struggled and went for the bell. It’s important to have a cue for these skills and start them in a control position so they don’t just continually smash the bells for a treat! Focus: Repetition A
