Kombi did really well today but did seem to be feeling the heat a bit by the end. Keep up the great work with him at home!
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down
|Comment: For his first session we worked on drop at a distance (we did try a few sits but Kombi struggled with the sit skill at a distance and kept going into drop). Kombi kept going into a drop on his own so we had to keep scattering food to get him out of the drop, quickly go to the distance and then ask for the drop. He dropped each time we did it this way though once he did move forward a few steps before dropping. Keep working on this as it is a great skill to have in an emergency!
|Skill learnt: Place Training
|Comment: For his second session we worked on having Kombi work on his drop and bed skills next to a car with doors open to help with him just jumping into cars. The first few times he would step off the bed to continue to the car but after a few reps he would hold the skill instead so we practiced having him drop next to the car. Again he did pretty well with this (one time he took an extra step or so but still dropped right next to the open car door). Practice having him go into a control position (sit/drop etc) before getting in a car and/or work on having a cue for when he can get into a car to help with his impulse control around cars.
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)
|Comment: For his last session we tried working on wave inside but Kombi was starting to feel the heat a bit and just wanted to lie down repeatedly instead of doing the trick so we switched to some loose lead in the shade outside. This did seem to perk him up a bit and we were able to get some good laps before finishing in the pool again to cool him off.
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
