|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Kobe’s first session was drops. He is doing so well but just needed a little more work on his duration today with the trainer moving away. Increasing the treats until the trainer was able to drop the lead and move further away was the goal and Kobe got there. Next time the goal is to do this outside and up the distractions.||Focus: Duration||B|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Next up was place. This was done outside by the kennel yards and understandably Kobe was very excited and distracted by the dogs. The trainer used an increase of treats and uhuh when needed and it didn’t take long for Kobe to start to ignore the dogs! Then it was to help Kobe stop following the trainer as she moved around Kobe! By the end of the session Kobe was holding place well! Very impressive Kobe!||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Last up was loose lead. The trainer attempted this outside but Kobe really couldn’t focus and he wasn’t learning. The distractions were to much. The trainer then returned to the classroom. There was another dog being trained but Kobe was still able to focus enough to start to walk better. The trainer worked in a small area and changed direction when Kobe pulled. He was much better inside. At home start in very low distracting areas like a hallway.||Focus: Distraction||C|
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
