Knox was reunited with Sam the trainer today and he couldn’t have been more impressed with his skills and they had the best time making art together!
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Recall
|Comment: For his first session today the two mates headed to the play pens to do a bunch of different basic obedience skills off lead since Sam knew just how good he can be! This entire session was a blast, he was taken around the play pens and was made to do almost all of his skills including his tricks and obedience! The trainer was especially impressed with his place ability which the trainer was able to use to get him to stay in place inside the pirate ship and even more impressed with his recall! As you can see from his social video Knox was able to stay in a drop while the trainer went through all 3 play pens before getting him recall where he sprinted straight back to the trainer like a champ! :D
|Skill learnt: Trick Training
|Comment: For his second session today the trainer wanted to really tire him out so did some trick training in the classroom! They worked on his newer skill of wall run and refreshed him on touch and play dead! The wall run is coming along a little slow as every time he gets near the trainer who is acting as a barrier to help him target the wall a little easier he just wants to cuddle so the trainer worked with this and used a traffic cone instead as the barrier and this made him go a bit quicker into the jump. His touch is also still very strong, he is able to stay in a drop then run over to the trainer and target what ever the trainer is holding which is great! However he did need a refresher course today with bang bang but by the end was happily doing the skill again! Another great session from Knox!
|Skill learnt: Desensitisation
|Comment: For his final session today the trainer got Knox to participate in this weeks theme of art week! He did really well however as we know he isn’t the best around his paws being held so the trainer instead choose to do a lick painting! He seriously loved doing this and I would recommend trying it out at home! Get a clipboard, a piece of paper, a plastic sleeve and some non-toxic water based paints (for safety and ease of cleaning!) pour a design of paint onto the paper as it is attached to the clip board, once happy with the original design put a plastics sleeve over the top but be sure not to smoosh the paint too much! From here cover the plastic side in peanut butter or treats and watch Knox create some art! He had a blast ending the day this way and even modelled for one of our trainers today while they sketched him, this required him to hold a paws up for a long time and while he broke a few times he did a great job being a sketch model! The trainer is very happy with today and he should be nice and tuckered out for you!
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
