Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: For his first session today the trainer started with some middles training with Knox. This was done for a few reasons, one being that of course it’s great to start the day with some fun but also since he was leaning his leg out during his sits we are able to really monitor and change his sit position when he is doing it right between our legs so the session was spent not only working on his middles but also on his sit as well, using the trainers legs and feet they were able to squish his leg back in when he tried to swing it out and only rewarded him when he was sitting like this, while he is still trying to swing the leg he is already decreased how many times he tried even when we ask Knox to sit regularly at the end he did much much better! Awesome first session from Knox today! Focus: Conditioning B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: For his second session the trainer worked on some off lead work in the play pens. Today the trainer started with off-lead recall as they were working near other dogs as distractions, however Knox loves the frisbee Sam so much the challenge was getting his focus off the trainer! Once this was done for a little bit they then worked on some impulse control with some red light green light play! They noticed he really loved the dinosaur fluffy toy today so the trainer used this to play with Knox, once he had won the toy the trainer made a big deal out of it really jazzing him up before asking him to recall back and drop for the trainer, he smashed this again easily being able to do what the trainer was after, another awesome session with Knox! Focus: Obedience A
Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning Comment: For his last session Knox was pooped due to the heat so the trainer wanted to keep him in the classroom and did something low energy to make sure we didn’t make him too tired and burn him out. So the trainer worked on his muzzle skill. To make it a bit more enticing the trainer worked on making muzzle into a fun game! They would ask him to sit and then move away a little bit from him with the muzzle before asking him to chase after the trainer and get into the muzzle! He loved this and really punched into the muzzle each time loving that it was now a game! He was awesome today and the trainer had a blast! Even though it was a hot day Knox pushed through and really impressed the trainer. Focus: Conditioning B+
