Mr Knox worked hard today! We really worked his brain…he fell asleep very quickly after his training.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|We focused on
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)
|Comment: This first session worked on some heel. We practiced luring him into position (getting him to swivel his bum around) and taking a few steps, releasing him and repeating. When we take the steps we want Knox as close to us and looking up at us as much as possible. This is why we start with a few steps and build up from there. We also make sure to release them from this position since it is a formal skill - not like loose lead walking which is quite casual. He did really well, he showed some solid engagement and understanding of position!
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down
|Comment: This session focused on his down and stand position - luring him between the two position really focusing on his form and building some strength. Ideally we want his feet to stay in the same position, he folds down and up into position. He did well, we were even able to introduce the verbal “stand” with the hand gesture (flat hand, palm facing up - just in front of his nose).
|Skill learnt: Middle Position
|Comment: Lastly we worked on his middles position, building duration and practicing from different angles. He did well with duration - holding eye contact with the trainer the entire time he was in position. He did break eye contact a couple times when another trainer moved past but we were able to gain his focus back quickly. We also rewarded him out of position (after releasing) - this makes him do the whole job first before getting that reward.
We recommend your next step should be…
A: Outstanding (90 – 100%) I understand my training, Neat & Complete! Ready to move on to higher difficulty & distraction
B: Great Work (80-89%) I mostly understand, Almost neat & complete! Needs practice in some areas. Mild distractions
C: Well Done (70-79%) Some good progress. Needs work, but on my way. Still learning. Low distractions.
D: Beginning (60-69%) My journey is just beginning, I don’t understand just yet. Introduction phase. No distraction.
E: Unable to Progress. Needs major focus, seek further options to assist.
X: Not gradable, the focus was on Enrichment, Socialisation & Engagement.
