Kipi was quite engaged today which was great to see! He preformed well with his muzzle and drops but does need to tighten up his drop skill in the kennel environment.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For his first session we worked on Kipi's drops in the kennel and carpark environments. Kipi was very hesitant to go into a full drop in the kennels especially with all the noise and movements he could hear from the other dogs and had to keep being encouraged into the full drop with "uh-uh"s until he dropped fully. After several drops he did start getting better with it and going into a full drop more readily. Once he did a few full drops right away we did the rest of the session in the carpark so as to not stress him out too much. In the carpark he did really well and dropped fully each time he was asked. Next time we'd like to have Kipi listen more in the kennels and go into full drops when asked - don't let him get away with not listening when dropping him off in the mornings.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: For his second session we worked on muzzle for Kipi. Kipi's duration has gotten a lot better and he often held his nose in the muzzle for a few seconds. If he tried a quick go at it he got a gentle "uh-uh" and would hold it a little longer the next try. Next session we will work on conditioning the straps again for him.||Focus: Duration||B+|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: For his third session we continued working on Kipi's muzzle skill. Kipi was quite engaged with it this session and even looked quite happy to be training. We also continued work with conditioning the strap against the side of his head. He did kind of shy away from it but tolerated the strap well. Next time we'd like to condition the strap more and get it up around the back of his head without Kipi growling. At home continue practicing with the muzzle often and keep making it positive for Kipi.||Focus: Repetition||B|
