|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: In his first session, Kipi focused on further developing his skill ‘place’ to help Kipi relax and settle within the classroom environment. Kipi was initially nervous around the classroom environment but began to settle when on place. Kipi performed very well, he quickly settled into the classroom environment and did not break ‘place’ throughout this session.||Focus: Conditioning||B|
|Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object)||Comment: In his second session, Kipi focused on further developing his skill 'paws up' with repetitions. We focused on this skill to help build Kipi’s confidence. Kipi performed well, he was initially hesitant to interact with the step, but with some guidance he quickly began to step up onto the step. Once engaged Kipi performed very well, showing good engagement with his trainer. We suggest continuing to practise this skill at home.||Focus: Confidence||B|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: In his final session, Kipi focused on learning the new skill 'around' with repetitions and distractions (two other dogs training in classroom). We focused on this skill to continue building Kipi's confidence surrounding people and dogs. Kipi loved learning this skill, he was excited and followed a lure straight away. He performed very well, the trainer has begun slowly fading the lure. Next time we would like to begin adding the verbal cue 'around'. We suggest continuing to practise this skill at home.||Focus: Foundation||B+|
