|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: This week the doggies attended their first art class with the trainers. This involved a session full of enrichment and fun, stimulating the dogs mentally as well as using the opportunity to condition the environment and make something beautiful to take home.||Focus: Confidence||C|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: Kimchi’s second session was a focus on place. A fantastic skill for her to have to help her remain calm in a variety of situations. Kimchi has a good grasp of the command place, however she did break a couple of times when the trainer bent down near her. A quick uh uh and she popped back on place. The trainer then increased the distractions further with a tug toy. Again Kimchi broke place but again quickly learnt and didn’t break. It was great to see her thinking about what she had to do and make the right choice. Keep practicing this at home and increasing the distractions.||Focus: Distraction||B|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: For Kimchi’s final session the trainer worked on drops. Kimchi has a good knowledge of drops, however Kimchi would break position every time the trainer stepped over her. The trainer spent most of the session working on this with her until she was confidently holding the position with the trainer working around and over her. This is an easy skill to practice at home and helping Kimchi build confidence.||Focus: Distraction||C+|
