|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Middle Position||Comment: Kimchi did very well with progressing her middles skill. We worked on increasing the angles in today’s session. We started at an angle of 45 degrees and were able to work up to angle of 100 degrees. One thing Kimchi did struggle with today was staying in her drop before being asked to perform middles. She was overly excited and was eager to learn which is why she kept breaking her drop position. To help reduce this we extended the duration between being asked to drop and going into middles position. This allowed her to calm down and focus. Once she was focused, she started improving her angles quickly. There were a few times when Kimchi sat facing the wrong way in middles, but she quickly corrected herself and turned the correct way. The next step for Kimchi would be to reach a 130-degree angle for middles.||Focus: Repetition||B+|
|Skill learnt: Place Training||Comment: For Kimchi’s second session we worked on place duration with wheelchair and high vis distractions. She did extremely well as she did not break once. We were able to get lots of motion and she was not phased by any of it.||Focus: Distraction||A|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Kimchi did really well in her third session with the skill sit pretty. She is understanding the skill but still needs a lure to get her into it. She is continuing to building up the strength to hold her position but is progressively getting better each session. While she sometimes still looks to place her front paws on the trainer’s arms, she did perform the skill really well without assistance for a few repetitions.||Focus: Foundation||B|
