Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Khans first session was place training. After a quick refresher he did quite well with resisting distractions like a tennis ball and the trainer dancing and making big movements around him. He did break a couple of times and next time it will be great to see him not break at all. The trainer also did send to place from a distance and Khan did well with this and was working hard for the treats. Focus: Repetition C+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Drops were the focus of Khan’s second session. He did struggle at the start but progressed well to be able to drop on the verbal command and stay in the position for a good duration. The trainer then started moving around Khan and stepping over him. Khan did break a few times but by the end of the session he was holding position much better. Next time the trainer would like to increase the distractions further. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: Khan’s final session was conditioning, enrichment and exposure. The trainer used place and had 3 other dogs with close distance to Khan. While the trainer helped set up the other dogs Khan stayed on place well. When the other dogs were also settled Khan enjoyed a licki mat to help settle him. The trainer was very impressed with Khan and how he focused on his job regardless of the other dogs close to him. Focus: Distraction C+
