|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Kelsey’s first session was drops. Again she was very excited so working on those door manners in that state is needed. The trainer walked through the kennels, kitchen and office area. Kelsey had to drop numerous times at doors and gates throughout the session. The first door was the hardest for Kelsey and the trainer used the Uhuh word as well as the foot brake to help Kelsey work out what she needed to do. As the session progressed Kelsey got much better and was also starting to engage more with the trainer rather than just look at the door. At home keep up the requirements of door manners as a big dog barging passed you while trying to open a door is dangerous.||Focus: Distraction||C|
|Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull)||Comment: Next up was loose lead walking and Kelsey did a fantastic job. Initially coming out of the classroom she was excited and pulled a little but once the trainer changed direction a few times Kelsey settled well and it was a fantastic session.||Focus: Distraction||B+|
|Skill learnt: Trick Training||Comment: Last up was ring the bell. Again the trainer focused on Kelsey using her paw rather than her mouth! She didn’t take long to work out that paw on bell meant treats. When she was doing that consistently the trainer then started to refine it so that she was actually ringing the bell rather than just mixing it around with her paw. Work in progress but she is a smart dog so it won’t take long!||Focus: Repetition||B|
