2021-11-24

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: To start off Kali’s day he worked on his ‘drop’ skill, through red light green light. Kali did really well!! He dropped exactly when told and the trainer even tested him on his release word, saying things like ‘breakfast’, ‘barnacle’ and other ‘b’ words instead and he did not move unless it was ‘break’!! Keep up the awesome work with this at home, we would love for Kali to remain strong in this skill. Focus: Distraction A
Skill learnt: Exposure Comment: Next up, Kali was taken to the cattery to work on conditioning him to cats. He was quite reactive towards the cat at first, so the trainer took him back and put him in a drop over a metre away. With frequent rewards, the trainer moved Kali closer to the cat and he was able to settle down right next to the condo! Yay!! If Kali seems to be stalking the cat at home, put him in a controlled position (drop, place, middles) to redirect the unwanted behaviour. Awesome work!! Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Paws Up (on object) Comment: To finish off, Kali worked on his ‘paws up’ skill, helping to build his confidence with it! He did SO well!! The trainer started him off with the inflatable pod and he smashed it. To test him a bit more, the trainer brought out 2 individual spiky pods and asked Kali to put a paw on each one and he absolutely nailed it! Kali has gotten so confident in placing his paws on things, it is great to see! Keep up the awesome work at home and test him with other objects that are elevated. The next step for Kali could be to get all 4 paws on individual pods and build his rear-end awareness at the same time. Brilliant work today, Kali! Focus: Confidence A
