Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Spin Comment: Jim-Jim began his day practicing his ‘spin’ skill, focusing on repetition with distractions. He did really well! Jimmy follows a lure beautifully and was able to perform the skill around another dog too! There were a couple times where he would drop when unsure, but keep practicing at home so we can soon begin to fade the lure! Awesome work, Jimmy! Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Next up, Jimmy worked on his ‘drop’ duration with another doggo and trainer distraction. Jimmy was very focused for the first 10 minutes and performed really well! He broke a couple times, but listened well for his “ah ah” marker. For the last 5 minutes the session turned into play as Jimmy lost some focus and instead of pushing him, we let him have some fun times with his fav trainers! Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: To finish the day, JimJam worked on his ‘place training’, focusing on building his duration. This is helped by the use of frequent rewards to remind Jimmy he is doing what we want. He got a bit bored, as a pup with a full day of training does, so the trainer began to work on his loose lead. He was done taking treats by this point, but still walked nicely beside the trainer with the help of slight lead pressure to help him get into position. Keep up all the amazing work at home! Focus: Duration B
