Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: First up today was loose lead walking and although initially Jax pulled a little he settled really well today. The trainer took him to the very top carpark and he did an amazing job and got a few drops in as well! When he did pull the trainer changed direction as well as using the yes marker and Jax reengaged! Great session. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Next up was place with food. Jax’s kryptonite! First up the trainer for Jax doing around between two place beds. This really helped Jax focus regardless of another dog training at the same time. As the session progressed the trainer added in food distractions. Jax did break a couple of times but did progress well. The big achievement was him lying on place watching the trainer spell Jax out with kibble on the floor near him! Fantastic impulse control from Jax! Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: Last up was recalls using food again as a distraction. This session also incorporated drops! The trainer had Jax drop and then recalled him. At first the food was a little distance away and Jax did try to detour towards the plates of food. However, using higher value treats Jax was keen to go to the trainer! As the session progressed the trainer was able to get Jax in a drop very close to the food and then recall him. He did really well with the recalls and although he looked at the food he came to the trainer really well. It was an awesome session to end on! Focus: Distraction B
