Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: In his first session, Jax focused on further developing his skill send to place in the classroom, working on building distance. Jax responds well to the place command and holds good duration. The trainers challenged him today with sending to place building distance. The trainer stared close to the bed and slowly walked away from him. Jax successfully went to the bed ever when the trainer was several meters away. He can initially become distracted but with some guidance from the trainer, he began to perform well. Focus: Distance B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his second session, Jax focused on further developing his drop while fading rewards. We focused on this to build his skills and reliability despite final treats. Jax performed well, he knows his drop skill well, responding to the verbal cue and holding good duration. While fading the treats the trainer only rewarded every third drop he did. Jax continued to drop despite the added challenge. Focus: Obedience B+
Skill learnt: Trick Training Comment: In his final session, Jax focused on learning the new skill of button press. We focused on this skill to build his problem-solving skills with shaping. Jax performed well, he quickly began to interact with the button, touching it with his nose. With the trainer's guidance, he began to reliably touch the button with his nose. Focus: Foundation C+
