Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Jamie's first session was Loose Lead with Drops. He did well with the command, dropped 90% of the time. However we are still having issues with him wanting to drop in front instead of the side. To help address this we used a chair to encourage him to drop on the left side. He was a bit hesitant but did it and by the end of the session the hesitation was gone. When asked to drop without the chair he would still move to the front to drop. The next progression will be to move him to a left side drop without the use of objects supporting. Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: We then focused on drops around other dogs. He did well in this and while he lost focus a few times majority of the session he had his focus on me. While he performed the drop skill 100% of the time asked, he was again dropping in front instead of to the side. The progression of this will be to increase the dog distractions, instead of one dog have a few in the room. Focus: Distraction C+
Skill learnt: Targeting (touch) Comment: Jamie performed the skill touch, he was alright in this skill but doesn’t 100% grasp the concept. It took awhile for him to understand but was able to touch it cleanly a few times. Most of the time he would throw head around and touch it that way. The next step for this skill is for Jamie to be able to have a better understanding of the skill touch. Focus: Foundation C+

We recommend your next step should be…
