Jamie really struggled with focus today - he was very distracted by other dogs and lacked engagement with the trainer.
It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.
Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!
"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."
|Skill||Comment||We focused on||Grade|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: Jamie struggled with drops. The first couple of minutes he wouldn’t give any attention as he was around high energy dogs and was focused on them. After being in a drop for a few minutes he ended up settling and we were able to work on his drops around dog distractions. He would only go half way down and wouldn’t place his bum on the ground. By the end of the session he was doing the drop skill better but still needed focus fully on the trainer before listening.||Focus: Distraction||C|
|Skill learnt: Drop/ Down||Comment: The second session we went to do touch skill but after getting him out the crate he again had no focus. It also took him a couple of minutes to settle in the crate. For the first 5 minutes of the session he was distracted and was struggling to fight the temptation of breaking drop. By the end of the session he began to listen and stay in his drop with focus on the trainer.||Focus: Duration||C+|
|Skill learnt: Muzzle Conditioning||Comment: For his last session we worked on some muzzle conditioning as part of our muzzle appreciation week. This is a great skill to have even for dogs that don't require it as a safety measure. Jamie did really well with muzzle training. He was able to place his full face in the muzzle without a lure by the end of the session. The next step would be to put the straps on.||Focus: Conditioning||B|
