Jack's Doggy Dayschool Report

2024-01-31

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Conditioning Comment: For his first session we worked on having Jack do a paw print painting as part of our art week. This helps to condition dogs to being handled, having their paws picked up and exposure to something new. Jack did really well with this, he had a few small wiggles but allowed the trainer to handle his paws quickly and efficiently to be able to male some pretty artwork for him to take home. Focus: Conditioning X
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For his second session we worked on the place skill with a focus on duration. Initially Jack was regularly stepping off before being released from the skill but as the session progressed he was able to hold it for longer periods and even as the trainer moved around the bed and to the end of the lead. He would get distracted by other staff and would break place to move towards them but again he improved with this after a few repetitions of being led back onto place whenever he broke early. Focus: Duration C+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: For his last session we worked on the place skill again, this time with a focus on sending him to place from a short distance (to help send him out of the kitchen at home). Jack was pretty good at this and was able to be reliably sent to place from about 2 steps away. Keep building up this distance so that he can be sent out of the kitchen to his place bed when needed. Focus: Distance C+

We recommend your next step should be…
