Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) | Comment: Izzy was so much better today, the weekend in the pet resort has seemed to really allow her to come out of her shell. She was taking treats straight away with the trainer and following the lead pressure great. The trainer started out with loose lead walking with Izzy as she had met this trainer but not worked with them and they wanted to build her engagement and a good relationship for future training. She did really well with this today keeping a nice slack lead between her and the trainer however she still requires a bit more work with her distractions. | Focus: Confidence | C+ |
Skill learnt: Place Training | Comment: For her second session the trainer worked on her place skill. She is doing really well with this skill, she has the foundations down but is having some issues focusing on staying on the place mat for long durations. So todays session was focused on building that duration on place. The trainer started right next to the bed and every time they took a big step she was released and rewarded, the next time the trainer asked her to go to place they went 1-2 extra steps and rewarding her for staying on the bed building both her duration and distance. The trainer was able to get to the end of a short lead today without Issy breaking off place which is great! | Focus: Duration | C |
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down | Comment: (And Sit) For her final session today the trainer worked on some basic obedience skills and worked on her sit and drop skills. Her sit was fantastic she is able to do it without a lure and goes in the position with the verbal command and hand gesture. She still requires a little work on duration and distractions but she has great foundation skills for her sit. Her drop is what needs more focus, the trainer had to lure her into her drops today however they saw that quick learning again and during this one session the trainer was able phase out the lure and she was dropping off the verbal and hand gestures but her duration needs more work. | Focus: Obedience | C+ |
