Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Spin Comment: First session Indie started to learn spin. This is a fun trick that can help build engagement while on walks while also a good confidence builder like all trick training. Indie can be lured to spin both clockwise and counter clockwise directions but is more confident going in a clockwise position. We used treats to lure her around and rewarded as she completed the full spin. We began introducing the verbal cue while luring. Keep working on this at home and fading out the lure as she shows more reliability. Once she gets the hang of this to challenge her further you can start teaching the opposite direction and labelling it something different Focus: Repetition B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Indies second session we worked on her place skill. Today we worked outside the kennels for a higher distraction level, conditioning her calm mindset around dogs and to continue getting her comfortable being around the kennels for when she boards with us. Indie did quite well this session, only breaking off a handful of times but was easily redirected back to place by saying uh uh. She did really well around the other dogs, showing no interest in them even while the trainer had her tethered and was able to walk 3-4 metres away. Great work Indie! Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Middle Position Comment: Final session Indie worked on her middles skill. She is showing good progress when it comes to coming into position from behind the trainer and needs minimal luring but does however need more of a lure when coming into position from in front of the trainer. We worked on lots of repetition today and adding small amounts of movement to get her comfortable with moving while in the position. Focus: Repetition B

We recommend your next step should be…
