Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Hugo’s first session today was loose lead. The trainer did this in the classroom as outside was far to distracting for Hugo. He did still struggle in the classroom with another person present. The trainer used treats to lure Hugo into the correct position and changed direction if he pulled. By the end of the session Hugo had settle a little but going forward it would be good to see him settle quicker into the session. Focus: Distraction D+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Place was Hugo’s second session. He has a good grasp of place but does struggle with the distractions. Once he stopped breaking when the trainer stepped away the trainer stepped it up by adding a tennis ball. Hugo was fine with it being bounced near him but once it was rolled passed him he broke continuously. The trainer slowed the ball rolling down and that helped. Next time the trainer would like to work further on these distractions with Hugo. Focus: Repetition D+
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Hugo’s final session was drop. He was great at getting into position but was breaking very easily. His thing was food. As soon as he thought he was getting a treat he would break position. This continued with him breaking for a ball that was nearby. Towards the end of the session Hugo was starting to hold position longer. Focus: Distraction C+
