Hugo's Doggy Dayschool Report

It was a PLEASURE training with your pooch today and we look forward to continuing to help you achieve your goals, skills and improve your relationship.

Your journey does not end here, it has only just begun!

"I trained hard, I played hard! Please find below the skills we worked on and my results. I look forward to showing you what I learnt and working on them more with you!" If you have any questions about the skills we trained please feel free to contact todays trainer."

Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: In his first session, Hugo focused on further developing his skill loose lead both outside and in the classroom around multiple dogs. We focused on this skill to build his engagement in a variety of environments. Hugo was very excited to be training. He was initially distracted by the surrounding environment (smells, sounds, etc), but as the session progressed he began to walk calmly next to the trainer checking in (showing engagement) regularly. When around the other dogs he was initially distracted and wanted to play, but by using engagement games he quickly redirected his focus to perform well. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: In his second session, Hugo focused on further developing his skill drop within the busy classroom. We focused on this skill to further develop his understanding of impulse control and duration. Hugo still required a lure to go into drop, once in drop he struggles to hold duration. This is expected as he is still learning the skill. As the session progressed the lure was slowly faded and his duration increased. We suggest continuing to focus on this skill at home. Focus: Foundation B
Skill learnt: Recall Comment: In his final session, Hugo focused on further developing his engagement and beginning to work on his recall. During this session, Hugo was initially distracted but through the use of engagement games, he quickly redirected his focus. Once focused we began to do short recalls (using normal lead). Hugo initially struggled to return to the trainer, however, once the trainer incorporated a lure he began to perform well. As the session progressed his engagement improved and recalls became more consistent. Focus: Foundation C+
