Skill Comment We focused on Grade
Skill learnt: Loose Lead (No pull) Comment: Hudson’s first session today was spent on his loose lead walking. As soon as we left the kennels we went straight into it. He did really well outside and showed some really good engagement without being prompted. We walked all around the carpark and drive way, he did pull a little bit towards the grassed areas but the trainer just stopped and asked for a sit. We let him sniff the grass only if he didn’t pull towards it, he had to walk nicely. Keep working on this skill, he did great. Focus: Distraction B
Skill learnt: Place Training Comment: Hudson’s second session today focused on place training outside. We worked on mostly distraction for this session. While he was in place the trainer ran, jumped, skipped and did star-jumps all around the bed. He struggled a little when the trainer pretended to run away from the bed, he jumped off to follow them. When he did this we just put him back in and did the same thing but slower. He smashed this, not only did we test him with trainer distractions but did it outside as well! Keep pushing this skill, he is doing really well. Focus: Distraction B+
Skill learnt: Drop/ Down Comment: Hudson’s last session today focused on his drop skill and some confidence building activities. Hudson’s drops have progressed heaps, we did them outside on the grassed area to test him with distractions. Much like his place skill we tested him with trainer movement, he couldn’t care less about what they were doing, he just stayed in his drop until released. To finish this session off we did some fun confidence building exercises, these included climbing over the flower bed and wooden planks in the carpark! Hudson had no troubles at all with these and seemed to quite enjoy it! Keep pushing him with new obstacles, it’s great to see him come out of his shell! Focus: Distraction B+
